Carpe Diem!

Grab your camera. Get lost in the wilderness. Sneak out of the back door and just be free! Create yourself every day Through the dresses you wear Through the colors and style you choose. Look straight ahead through the lens Plaster a smile on your face And just be brave! Express art in your shoes Those hidden gems on your accessories Visit monuments and museums that inspire you And don’t get intimated by the classic! Carry your ideas in your bag. Fill them in. Take them out. Drop them everywhere. Far away, far from view, far from you! Paint your face with the colors of the rainbow Bold, bright, full of life! Harness your inner demons; fear, insecurities Cast them to light Spend extra time with your children. Live with their hobbies and joys. Play with pleasure, enjoy yourself. Carpe Diem Don't forget to stay in the day!

My 26th Month Old: Asking and Learning Stage

The strange favorite of mine is how this little bunny follows me along and wants to be part of what I am doing. Being impatient at first, I tried to get things done quickly out of her sight. But I noticed her willingness to help and this eager desire to please me. She wants to be a good girl to mommy, I guess. Thus, the next time I did household chores like folding clothes; I let her keep her own garments inside the drawer, that’s her job! This role gave her a sense of incentive. One time I caught her nodding her head possibly taken aback by the idea that she’s a “big” girl now. The bonus point? Mommy got an instant adorable helper! I’m still in so much awe of her impressive ability to follow directions; “put it in the drawer”, “get your ball under the table” or “get your shoes and put it on”. Yes, I’m that sad statistics, the proud parent! J At this stage, she also has this never-ending questions of “ what’s that?” or simply “dat or sha” ( as my sister perceives it ) po

Summer OOTD Inspirations!

Me and my friends here in Bangkok are head-over-heels for summer that we can't majorly agree on the details of our upcoming summer escapades. With the Kingdom's Songkran Holidays coming this April, we already made plans for spending the rest of the Festival on the Island of Ko Si Chang. And my favorite thing which is the fun part and definitely the best one is planning for my OOTDs and shopping for cute summer essentials, taking cues from my favorite celebs and bloggers who already jump-started their summer holidays.  I need to do shopping right now or I might rob their closets. Hahaha, epic! For the meantime, here are my current favorites and some tips on upgrading your wardrobe; Black Kimono When in doubt, just wrap yourself in Kimono and you're secured instantly. I love how Kimono's style up your casual outfit and can team-up with basically anything; bikini, shorts or jeans. Win win! 🐚🌸🐚🌸 @coralswimwearph รูปภาพที่โพสต์โดย Kelly M

One of the Best Thai Noodle Soup in Bangkok

Delle and I have a weird hankering for Thai food most of the time, especially after midnight. On the top list of our cravings is the Thai noodle with the black soup called “Kuai Tiao Ruea or ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือ ”. It’s a delicious combination of small rice noodles “sen lek” and fresh vegetables soak in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, topped with garlic, crispy pork, onion, parsley and fortified with yummy blood broth called “nam tok” . My favorite part is to season it up to your liking. You can add chili powder, vinegar, sugar, ground peanuts and lots of crispy pork. This Thai noodle soup is very popular and once you’ve tasted it you will know why. Lol You can find the best and delicious ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือ restaurants literally everywhere, like along the streets, under the trees and even on floating boats. But with this rising temperature here in the Kingdom (from 32-38 degrees on the average) you can’t fully enjoy your food under scorching heat. One recent addition to our “Fa

Journeys in Thailand: A Reason to Celebrate

There are plenty of reasons to attend our Sunday gatherings at GIFT Church, all but for the glory of the Lord. Be present to celebrate the gift of life. Meet real people. Shift old ways and habits to better days. Celebrate bountiful gifts. Pray for your shortcomings and misfortune. Pay forward to all the blessings you’ve had and will receive. Whatever is your calling, be present to the praises and abundance of the moment and you’re most welcome. Last week was exceptional.  We celebrated our pastor’s mother (Lola Paty) 77 th birthday. We have fun sharing this moment with these folks who’ve been in the same way bear witnesses to our own family’s event highlights; birthdays, wedding, christening, anniversaries and even traditional holidays. I met this family through my husband Delle sometime in 2011 when we were still dating. And being an introvert myself, you can’t imagine how hard for Delle to put all these convincing power and true-to-life influences at work. Those momen

How to Style Up a Classic Black Jumpsuit

Last weekend I traded my dress for this black jumpsuit and decided to take the night out up a notch with matching peep toe high heels and all black accessories.  And geez, how I love these new babies ♥ As a mom with a super active bouncing ball of energy baby, I need to get dressed fast and easy most of the time. Rompers and jumpsuit are on top of my list because not only they’re simple and light but effortlessly cool and stylish. I was a bit hesitant at first but with right accessories and a little bit of confidence, I felt more positive about it to face whatever my day would bring. And just like my favorite dresses, I can style it up or down on just about any occasion. I guess I wasn’t prepared with lots of compliments that night! (Mostly from my husband) Haha Just kidding! Have great week ahead J

Journeys in Thailand: A Brave New World

“Journeys in Thailand” is a series and collection of amazing stories, personal experiences, tips and advice by fellow expat and overseas Filipino workers currently living and navigating their journeys here in Thailand. Join us every first Wednesday of the month as we share the best tips and keys on how we managed to adapt to new environment, unique cultures, and various traditions. Throwback 2011 Why I was here: Back in 2009, my sister invited me to visit Thailand for a holiday and "change of environment" as she puts it. I never envisioned myself going out or working outside the country. But this trip changed everything. Few months later I quit my job in Makati, packed my entire life, held my suitcase and took the risks. My friend calls it soul-searching, I call it quarter-life-crisis. Hence, the word crisis ! What I love most: That extra effort they took to make you feel comfortable and always feel at home. I met a bunch of people who b

Spring Into Summer State-of-Mind

Dress -  Mirror Dress by Zalora Bag -  Mango by Zalora Watch - Seiko Hat - Friend's Gift Shoes - Night Market Gosh, spring in my mind. One of the things I was most looking forward to when I was young was playing in the farm filled with wild flowers in full bloom. Wherein we lay flowers on our feet with matching flower crowns on our head and just rest there to our hearts' content. Only to went home with bug bites and rashes. Lol! Ah those were the days. Those times before technology wins over my day. Hahaha So before spring fades into hot summer days, I want to capture this moment and take note of all that has grown in my life. To be thankful for what has already been done and look forward to the idea of growing yourself into a person you want to be. I was able to accomplished some backlog of work that's been filing up, cleared out some deadlines, reunited with some old friends, renewed our visas and I'm off to a good start as usual. I'm

My Favorite Parenting Style : Thai Approach

Everything is a learning experience for me when it comes to motherhood. As a new mom living in a foreign country (away from my mother) I learn to love and adapt some ways in which foreign perspectives can add incalculable depth to my parenting styles - which is basically a mimic from my own upbringing.  I’ve been picking up clues and tips along the way essential to my child’s growth even before she was born.   And the first thing that caught my attention, which is currently one of my favorites, is how my Thai friends  gracefully braced themselves over children’s public behavior and giving their toddlers  A LITTLE MORE CONTROL OVER THINGS. And I’m not surprised by where this little action is leading to - nothing but clearly confident children . (I’m open to any of your arguments with regards to that last sentence hahaha ) I mean I found this fascinating because I was brought up in an environment with totally opposite POVs. They taught us to behave in the most sensible way
