Hey, Happy Friday!
Do you ever feel stuck to your
daily routines and habits that you find it hard to get a way or have the
courage to break through? Or are you overwhelmed with your to-do lists and
volume of work on your plate? Do you ever feel heartbroken pouring yourself
into someone or something, trying to do the best you can but you’re stuck
because you’re not being seen? Don’t fret as you are not alone.
This can be especially difficult
and frustrating but trust me, God is preparing you into something bigger and
greater than you can imagine. So, don’t give up. It’ll be all worth it in the
end.
And while you wait, below are
simple formulas that helps me get through and hope that in some way will give
you a different positive perspective too:
Be part of something bigger
than yourself
The key to self-motivation that
empowers you is in knowing that you can always have something to give and
contribute to - to the world. While it’s not advisable for you to ignore your little
problems in life, but as you get a larger vision of yourself and on your reason of
being you will realize that the world or people around you have more pressing
concerns at the moment and that you can always MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Find a cause
larger than yourself – climate change, poverty, equality, global warming,
teaching the street children, reaching the unreached or saving the mother
Earth.
Live beneath your means
It’s funny how we find time improving
our looks, our faces, and even on the products that we use but we never find
time to improve our finances or on our spending habit. I don’t mean to judge
you or deprive you of anything that you want - you can buy all the things, eat
on your favorite restaurants or take all the trips. That’s perfectly fine but I
want you to be honest with yourself – always live beneath your means.
Sometimes it’s not about how much
you EARN but more on how you SPEND what you earn. Beware of your little
expenses – “a small hole can sink a great ship”.
Surround yourself with the
right people
You have to be aware of who you
have in your crowd - surround yourself with people who will help you grow
spiritually, intellectually, professionally and socially. And while it’s great
to train your mind to be of great service and substance to other people, it’s
okay to walk away from conversations, relationships and people that don’t add
value to your life anymore. We grow and learn from each other so appreciate
those than can enhance and enrich your life (it should be reciprocal) and learn
from those who drain your energy and untangle yourself from them. Sometimes,
that’s the best thing you can do for yourself – let go.
And last but not the least, as
John Piper very well put it – Live in complete awareness of the sufficiency
of Christ.
Let’s try our best to live an
authentic, humble, clear, open, bible saturated and faith filled life in
communion with Christ – JP.
